Gloucester Fishing Village

Quaint inlet with weathered building belonging to a boat dockyard. It's reflection in the water was crisscrossed with a zigzagged, weathered, abandoned dock. So typical of a New England fishing town. The reflection and diagonal lines made an interesting composition for me.

Purple Shadows

On Cape Cod MA, sand is everywhere. On this little hillside cling the gnarled pines and stunted oaks found throughout the Cape. Cape Cod sunlight makes for a special treat not found anywhere else.

Hazy Morning on Sugarloaf

Mount Sugarloaf (named because of it's loaf-like shape) overlooks the Connecticut River as it winds it's way lazily through the Pioneer Valley of MA. This particular morning was quite hazy making for a soft painting.

Sugarloaf Overlook

View of the sleepy New England town of Sunderland, MA. Visible is the road leading to the bridge that crosses over to South Deerfield where Mount Sugarloaf is situated. And a quaint church so typical of rural New England.

Rocky Shoreline

Rocky shorelines abound in Gloucester MAAs well as gnarled trees shaped by the wind and kept small by the salt air. Patches of sunlight played on the rocks, grass and trees.
